This is the third update in my British WW2 weapons collection. Like the No.5 Lee Enfield it’s a carbine design but unlike the Jungle Carbine this rifle had a silenced barrel and was primarily used for covert operations. During World War II, the De Lisle carbine was mainly used by the British Commandos and saw some use by the Special Operations Executive (SOE). E. Michael Burke, the American former commander of an allied Jedburgh Team, stated that a De Lisle was used by them to assassinate two senior German officers in 1944.
